Ayurveda guides as to what to eat, what not to eat, how to eat, types of food to eat etc. Ayurveda says that complexion, voice, strength, satisfaction, knowledge, happiness, etc are dependent of the food which is consumed. Hence food is considered as one of the sub pillar of human body.
Though Health is defined as a state physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease, current models of Wellbeing donot take into account all the aspects and levels of Health. The primary aspect of 'Self' or the Individual Conciousness, that which is intrinsic to all, that which we all are made and that which we all share, has been long banished from the chapters of Wellbeing.
